NEW RoleTailored Client

In Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009, pages replace forms as the main way to display and organise data. Pages are displayed in the RoleTailored client, which offers users a visual experience more closely aligned to Microsoft Office and Windows.

In the RoleTailored client, every user has a Role Center page, tailored to their individual needs and tasks they perform. The RoleTailored Client offers greater integration of reporting functionality with easily reachable Business Intelligence (BI) tools.

Rich customisation allows users to personalise their own user experience (RoleTailored Client). Using the Chart Pane, for example, users are able to add multiple dynamic charts to their Role Center, allowing them to monitor the KPIs for their specific role.

The user's Inbox also sits within their unique Role Center screen eliminating the need to constantly switch between applications.

The key elements of Role Centers

  • The Navigation Pane shows you the lists and application areas you see the most.
  • Microsoft Outlook interface gives you a quick overview of appointments, tasks and emails without having to leave Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Activities displays your work ahead in stacks-of-paper- icon to help you plan your work.
  • My lists enables you to list useful items, such as your customers or vendors, to help you find the information you need quickly
  • My notifications allows you to see important information about a document from a colleague
  • Graphs and Charts enables you to set up charts that show performance metrics and promote informed decisions in your organisation.

When she begins a task she opens a new window. The task name is clearly shown. And when she’s done, she closes it. One glance at the pop-up window she left open when she went to get a coffee tells her exactly where she let off. And she can resume her work right away.
